Intensive short term rehabilitation is available at Riverhead Care Center for residents recovering from surgery, illness or accident. Our new rehabilitation department offers state-of-the-art physical, occupational and speech therapies in a spacious and bright rehabilitation center overlooking the gardens. With an emphasis on independence, mobility and recovery, residents appreciate our creative rehabilitation philosophy incorporating humor, relaxation and health and wellness techniques in order to return to normal everyday life.

Our new rehab department offers state-of-the-art equipment in an attractive, spacious rehab gym. But what makes us really successful is our outstanding staff and their attitude towards our residents. Our rehab staff’s approach to rehabilitation truly motivates our residents and gives them the incentive to get better and return home.

Riverhead Care Center’s approach to recovery is to treat patients as people. We get to know our residents. We talk to them about their lives. We find common ground to chat about. We laugh a lot. We have noticed that interacting with residents in a casual way increases their energy level and motivates them through the challenging rehabilitation process and often difficult tasks they need to accomplish in order to return home. We take that very seriously, but see the value in maintaining a light atmosphere.

With our beautiful and spacious gardens adjacent to the rehab center, the innovative therapists at Riverhead Care Center often provide therapy to residents outside (during warmer months) in our lovely enclosed courtyard with gardens.
